Why digitisation need not be impersonal

More and more is becoming digital: from staff planning, to assessment, to payment. You might think that this results in less and less personal contact. However, that need not always be the case.

This is because most of the tasks of a temporary employment agency consist of administrative tasks. Thanks to digitalisation, all processes are much faster or even automatic. This saves a lot of time and money, and these savings can be used elsewhere. Employers get energy from personal contact with both different clients and their own employees.

A great advantage of digitalisation and automation is the ability to monitor performance. Employees can easily fill in an evaluation of their shift. In addition, you can easily see how many hours were filled in a period, which shifts were not filled and how many staff you have shortage or surplus. Do something with this data! This will give you an optimal forecasting and staffing.

Stay in touch

Take your employees with you when you automate: what will change for them? Is training perhaps required for working with the new system? What opportunities and pitfalls are there? Let your employees give their input on the automation. They may have other ideas about digitisation. After all, they are on the 'other side' of the work.

All administrative tasks go faster. That offers a lot of opportunities. Planners now have time for the personal side of their work. There is now more room for informal conversations. For example, how people are doing and what they encounter in their work. There is also more time for reflection. Plan moments to look together at what can be improved in both planning and personal points of improvement for the planner. Since there is no natural contact anymore due to digitalisation, it is important to find a certain workflow in these contact moments.

Use the costs saved

Digitisation also brings about all kinds of cost savings. A lot of things are now done automatically. This means that an additional planning employee is no longer needed. What's more, optimising staffing means that savings can be made on extra personnel. Use those costs for training your staff, for example, or optimising the digital platform that you and your staff use.

In other words: digitisation provides an optimal balance between administrative tasks and personal contact with your staff. And we all know: satisfaction leads to quality!
