What is labour mediation?
You hear the word labour mediation regularly. But what does it actually mean? It is about ensuring that the supply and demand of labour are matched. So labour mediation is about ensuring that personnel get the right job. In the Netherlands we have different types of employment mediation. There are official agencies via the government that do this, but also private commercial companies that you pay to do this for you.
Non-commercial employment services
This type of company is not about making profit, but about helping people. This form of job placement often focuses on helping people who are on welfare, for example. It can also be about jobseekers who cannot find a job and therefore it is possible that they will soon be in a benefit situation. The aim of this type of company is to help as many people as possible find a job so that they do not have to live on benefits. Often these organisations are set up by the government
Commercial employment services
This form of labour mediation does focus on making a profit. It may still involve people on benefits, but often it also involves people moving from one job to another. It may be that people are not satisfied with their current work situation; they then turn to a mediation agency to look for a job that suits them better. Because of this, this group of people will also be more critical than in the non-commercial mediation group, as the job is less necessary. It is also possible that a company uses an employment agency to find the right person for a job. The company then pays them for the ideal candidate.
There are various types of organisations in the commercial employment sector. Think of headhunters, recruitment agencies or temporary employment agencies. Most placement agencies focus on a specific brand, such as the hospitality or healthcare sectors. There is an agency for almost every sector. These companies often stand in between staff and services, these can also be flex workers. It is therefore not always about permanent jobs.
Fleks for your agency
Within Fleks, we also work together with employment agencies. As an intermediary agency, you will receive all the services of your clients in the Fleks software. Suitable flexworkers can then respond directly to the open shifts and you can introduce candidates to the client.
In addition, you can also deploy temporary workers for a longer period. Temporary workers easily create their timesheets in the mobile app and you, as an agency, receive the hours for verification. Flek's scheduling software is the solution for ad hoc and long-term assignments.
