What is job placement?
You often hear the term "job placement." But what does it actually mean? It refers to ensuring that labor supply and demand are matched. Job placement is therefore about ensuring that people find the right job. In the Netherlands, we have different types of job placement services. There are official government agencies that do this, but there are also private commercial companies that you pay to do it for you.
Non-commercial employment services
These types of companies are not concerned with making a profit, but with helping people. This form of job placement often focuses on helping people who are receiving benefits, such as those on welfare. It can also involve job seekers who are unable to find work and may soon find themselves in a situation where they need to claim benefits. The goal of these types of companies is to help as many people as possible find a job so that they do not have to live on benefits. These organizations are often set up by the government.
Commercial employment services
This form of job placement does focus on making a profit. It may still involve people receiving benefits, but it often also involves people who are moving from one job to another. People may be dissatisfied with their current work situation and engage an employment agency to find a job that suits them better. This group of people will therefore be more critical than those in the non-commercial employment group, as the job is less of a necessity. It may also be the case that a company engages a recruitment agency to find the right person for a position. The company then pays them for the ideal candidate.
There are various types of organizations within commercial employment services. These include headhunters, recruitment agencies, and temporary employment agencies. Most placement agencies focus on a specific sector, such as hospitality or healthcare. There is a placement agency for almost every sector. These companies often act as intermediaries between personnel and services, which may also include flex workers. This does not always involve permanent jobs.
Flexibility for your employment agency
At Fleks, we also collaborate with employment agencies. As an employment agency, you will receive all your clients' services within the Fleks software. Suitable flex workers can then respond directly to the open services, and you can propose candidates to the client.
You can also deploy temporary workers for longer periods. Temporary workers can easily create their timesheets in the mobile app, and you, as the agency, will receive the hours for verification. Fleks planning software is the solution for ad hoc and long-term assignments.
